Curious about what’s worth building in the carbon economy?

Join us for our upcoming CDTM +Net Positive event:

Beyond Net Zero: Building the Carbon Economy
From Research to Startup

📍 CDTM Munich
📅 August 4, 2026 · 7 PM

Climate tech needs more than emission reductions. To reach net zero, and eventually move beyond it, we need credible ways to remove carbon, store it, and turn it into scalable climate solutions.

That is exactly what we want to explore in this event.

Together with researchers, climate-tech startups, and students, we will look at what is worth building across carbon removal, CCUS, industrial decarbonization, and the emerging carbon economy.

The speaker lineup:

🔬 Dr. Nicoletta Brazzola - Oxford Net Zero, IPCC, SWP Berlin
on governance and policy for scaling credible carbon removal

🔬 Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jakob Burger - TUM Chair of Chemical Process Engineering
on CCUS and the future carbon economy from a process engineering perspective

🚀 Simon Reiter - CCO & Co-Founder, Litherm
on industrial carbon management and decarbonizing lime and cement

🚀 Tony Oehm - CEO, ZeroEx
on enhanced rock weathering and commercial pathways for carbon removal

💡 Dr. Malte Toetzke - TUM, Max Planck Net Zero Lab
joining the venture idea feedback jury

The evening will combine short expert keynotes with an interactive venture idea sprint, where participants develop early-stage startup concepts and receive feedback from leading researchers and founders.

This event is for anyone curious about the future of carbon removal, CCUS, and climate-tech entrepreneurship. No prior expertise required. Curiosity, ambition, and a willingness to think entrepreneurially are enough.

Come for the insights. Stay for the people building the future of climate. And maybe meet your next co-founder along the way.

Spots are limited and approval-based.
