How to apply

An application and two interviews

  1. Form & letter

    Introduce yourself

This is where you introduce your background, experiences, interests and skills. But beyond achievements and CV points, we also want to understand who you are.

It is your chance to show personality, reflection and motivation. There is no single right answer. The strongest essays are often the most personal, honest and specific.

  2. Interviews

    Two conversations

We invite the top 60 applicants to the CDTM in Munich for their interviews. You choose your own slot from the times we email you in advance.

    Personal

A relaxed conversation to get to know each other better. Alumni often describe it as a fun coffee chat. There is not much to prepare beyond being yourself.

    Technical

A conversation about your projects, your creativity and your problem-solving skills. Come well-rested and ready to talk to us about your field of interest.

  3. Decision

You hear from us by email

One week after the interviews, we let every applicant know whether they made it into the program.

Before you start

What to have ready

The tool walks you through the form itself. These are the things worth sorting out before you open it.

You need to be
  • Enrolled at TUM or LMU, either now or from next semester.
  • At least 60 ECTS completed in your undergraduate studies by the time you apply.
It helps if you have
  • Work or internship experience
  • An exchange semester abroad
  • Some experience with project management
Documents to upload
  • Curriculum vitae

Show all the work and volunteering experience you have.

  • Letter of motivation

Highlight your proactivity and personality, why you want to join CDTM and what you would contribute once you joined.

  • Transcripts

From school and university, with all grades rather than just the current year.

If you are accepted

Block these dates

The program opens with three fixed, full-time blocks. They are not optional, and they are the part applicants most often discover too late. Check them against your semester before you apply.
