Sophia Junginger
Sophia Junginger joined the CDTM in October 2025. She holds a M.Sc. in Technology Management from Columbia University in New York. Before joining CDTM, Sophia gained practical experience in both the start-up space and consulting. She worked at PioneerPort and German Accelerator, start-up accelerators in Germany and the U.S. supporting early-stage and growth-stage founders, which deepened her passion for entrepreneurship. She then joined Accenture, where over the past 4.5 years she specialized in Technology Strategy with a focus on M&A assessments, IT strategy, data strategy, and large-scale transformations. Her work spanned multiple industries, including life sciences, automotive, and manufacturing. In this role, she led key project workstreams from strategy through implementation. Alongside her position at CDTM, Sophia is a Research Associate at the Chair for Strategy and Organization at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Her research focus lies in how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, are evaluated, adopted, and integrated into organizations. Her work is empirical and applied: one strand is a meta-analysis on the impact of large language models on human work, with particular attention to the differential impact of LLMs on experts versus laypeople. A second strand examines the conditions under which human–AI collaboration adds or destroys value, and aims to do so through field experiments on AI implementation in German enterprises, conducted in collaboration with corporate partners, with the goal of moving the evidence base on enterprise AI from lab and survey settings into operational reality.
