At CDTM, big outcomes don’t start big

January Community Recap 2026

At CDTM, big outcomes don’t start big. They start with curiosity and people who keep building.

Over time, some of those builders have grown into companies shaping entire industries. Here’s a quick snapshot of what a few from our community have achieved recently 👇

🤖 RobCo
Roman Hölzl (CDTM Fall 2017) and team created modular robots and a Physical AI stack that factories can deploy fast. January 2026 brought a $100M Series C to scale globally.

🧬 Orbem
Pedro Gómez (CDTM Spring 2014) is industrializing ultra fast MRI to transform food systems and eliminate chick culling. Orbem raised a €55.5M Series B in January 2026.

🏭 Cellares
Fabian Gerlinghaus (CDTM Spring 2012) set out to solve one of biotech’s biggest bottlenecks: cell therapies work. With full automation at its core, Cellares is building the industrial infrastructure to make life saving cell therapies accessible at commercial scale. In January 2026, the company raised a $257M Series D.

Merger / Acquisition:

💪 EGYM
Philipp Roesch-Schlanderer and Florian Sauter (CDTM Fall 2006) built EGYM into an ecosystem spanning AI training, hardware, and corporate wellbeing. In January 2026, EGYM announced a $7.5B merger with the Mindbody ClassPass Playlist group.

🚀 Kaia Health
Founded by Konstantin Mehl and Manuel T. (CDTM Spring 2011), Kaia turned a smartphone into a medical device. In January 2026, Kaia was acquired by Sword Health for $285M.

🧠 Langfuse
Marc Klingen and Max Deichmann (Fall 2018) built with langfuse a core open source layer for LLM observability. In 2025, the team joined forces with ClickHouse to scale enterprise grade AI analytics.

Different generations. Different industries. Same CDTM DNA.

We’re proud of what this community has created and even more excited for what’s coming next in 2026.
