Join the Management Team
Researcher + Educator + Entrepreneur = You?
At the CDTM, we offer an environment that allows you to thrive to your fullest potential. As part of our fully autonomous management team, you will find creative freedom, take over responsibility from day one, and be part of a knit community.
Skills & Team
As part of the management team, you will acquire a wide range of skills and learn to approach problems as a researcher and entrepreneur. You will learn how to lead people, how to develop your own projects, and how to scale an organization on the European level. At the same time, you retain a high level of autonomy to put special focus on the things you find important. Within the team, we work at eye level. You will get to work with some of the most motivated, ambitious, and strong personalities you ever met.
Network & Community
You will become part of one of the most successful and tightly knit networks in Europe. Throughout our 27 years of history, the Center has brought forward startups that are now worth over €8 billion. We have educated innovators who are now key decision-makers in academia, industry, and politics. In our community, you will find unparalleled support to pursue both your individual and organizational objectives.
Research & Abroad
As part of the management team, you are fully financed for four years and completely free to choose your topic. Close ties to the leading universities in Munich, the LMU & TUM, offer the ideal environment to hone in on your research. A set of close partnerships with universities abroad enables you to collect further experience and strengthen your research profile even more.
Your Role
Every member of our team not only pursues a doctoral degree but carries additional responsibilities at the organization. In practice, this means that within your four-year position, the first 2.5 years will be more focused on CDTM-related responsibilities, while the last 1.5 years will be more focused on your individual research activities.
Education
You are responsible for your own education format to form and steer as you see fit. You have a large degree of autonomy, ranging from the conceptualization of the curriculum to the operations of lectures and workshops.
Operations
You support the team and the Center on several operational topics. Examples include recruiting students for our program, organizing partnerships abroad for research and course stays, and exploring other partnership and collaboration opportunities for the Center.
Strategy
You shape and execute our strategic objective: to establish the CDTM as the leading program for innovation in Europe. In your strategic work, you have an impact on the direction of the organization, be it the curriculum we offer, the long-term financial stability we ensure, or new initiatives we pursue.
Your Profile
- Passion for scientific research and teaching
- Interest in the economic, environmental and social aspects of innovation
- Independent, motivated to learn, and committed to contribute with and implement your own ideas
- Relevant practical experience in dynamic environments (e.g. technology, consulting, innovation, sustainability), and ideally in the development and implementation of innovation/teaching formats
- Excellent Master's degree with a humanities, business or technological orientation
- Initial ideas on possible topics/supervisor constellations for your doctorate
- Business fluent in English (C1)
